Isla Mujeres.
Isla Mujeres is located in the Caribbean Sea opposite the coast of Cancun. Its extension is 7.5 km long and 1-2
kilometers wide.
The name "Isla Mujeres" has its origins in the Mayan goddess "Ixchel" to which the Mayans worshiped as the patron
goddess of love and fertility and has made the island as a sanctuary for her. When the Spanish discovered the island,
they saw several offerings with female figures and have christened the island with the current name.
The island is characterized by its natural and cultural wealth, beautiful beaches with fine white sand and warm clear
ocean waters, where it offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.
The island still retains some of its wild jungle vegetation, where visitors find peace and rest. It is ideal for
those seeking to get away from the hectic pace of Cancun and feel relaxed.
Nonetheless, Isla Mujeres has important tourism infrastructure in different categories such as hotels, bars,
restaurants, and leisure activities dedicated to visitors.
The island offers varied activities for tourists: Visit the archaeological remains as the Temple of Ixchel,
making for its stunning reef diving, swimming with dolphins, visits to the park "El Garrafón", water sports like kayaking,
snorkeling, jet skis .. or stroll around the island on bicycles, motorcycles and golf carts ..
In the town center area of the island is home to most of the shops and entertainment venues.
